Crimp beads are a beading essential as they secure thread or wire when attaching clasps to necklaces or bracelets.
They are small round pieces of soft metal with a hole through the centre. When squashed, the crimp grips the cord firmly - stopping beads from passing it, or holding pieces of cord together.
They can also be used to great effect on either side of a bead to hold it in place - this is a great technique for illusion necklaces.
Crimp bead covers give a great professional finish to your jewellery. They consist of a bead split on one side, use pliers to wrap these around your crimp beads to make it look more like a rounded bead.
